Dologi is a thinking-skills app for children aged 4 to 10. Each day, your child plays one short session of puzzles at the right level, then takes a break. There are no ads, no score races, and nothing designed to keep your child on the screen longer than needed.
This article explains what Dologi offers, what a session looks like, and what we have done so parents can feel at ease handing over the device.
Why we made Dologi
Logical thinking is the ability to observe, compare, spot patterns and reason things through. It underpins math, reading comprehension and the way a child solves small everyday problems. It grows best through short, regular practice at the right level. You can read more in What is logical thinking, and why start at age 4?.
We wanted an app that does exactly that: good puzzles, difficulty that fits each child, and respect for your family's time and privacy.
Seven topics, many kinds of puzzles
Puzzles in Dologi are grouped into seven topics, each with several kinds of puzzles:
| Topic | What your child practices | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Logic | Reasoning, ruling things out, drawing conclusions from clues | Balance scales, code breaking, clue grids, who lives where |
| Patterns | Spotting what repeats and predicting what comes next | Repeating patterns, what comes next, rules that change |
| Space | Picturing objects as they turn, flip and fit together | Fitting blocks, rotation, symmetry, mazes and routes |
| Math | Number sense, comparing, mental arithmetic | Counting, adding, ordering, number pictures |
| Focus | Looking closely and noticing details | Spot the difference, secret pictures, secret codes |
| Memory | Remembering images and positions | Flip cards, remember where everything is |
| Listening | Telling sounds apart and remembering melodies | High or low, long or short, play back a melody |
If your family prefers quiet play, a parent can turn off the puzzles that need sound in the parents' area.
What a session looks like
The Dologi home screen is simple enough for young children to use on their own:
- The Start card opens a short session with a few puzzles mixed from different topics.
- Each topic card shows the first puzzle of its session; one tap and your child plays that very puzzle.
- When an answer is not right yet, the app gently invites your child to try again. No red crosses, no disapproving sounds.
- At the end of a session, your child says whether it was too easy, just right or too hard. The app uses that answer to adjust the next sessions.
Always new, always at the right level
Puzzles in Dologi are not a fixed list. They are generated from puzzle templates each time your child plays, so the same puzzle rarely comes back and answers cannot simply be memorized.
Difficulty has ten levels, matching ages 4 to 10, and adapts skill by skill: do well and the next puzzle gets a little harder; struggle and it eases off. A child who is strong at patterns but new to spatial puzzles always gets the right challenge in both. To see what children can typically do at each age, read Thinking milestones from age 4 to 10.
Creative corner: free play, no scores
Alongside the puzzles, Dologi has a Creative corner for free imagination:
- Drawing board for drawing freely.
- Drawing robot, where your child gives the robot steps to move and draw shapes, a first taste of step-by-step thinking.
- Music workshop, where your child puts notes together into their own melodies.
There is no right or wrong here and nothing is scored. Your child's creations are kept in a collection on the device; they are not posted anywhere or shared outside the app.
Parents stay involved
The parents' area sits behind a small gate so children do not open it by accident. There you can:
- Create up to 4 player profiles on one device, each with just a nickname, an age and an avatar.
- Set a play-time limit for each player. When time is up, the app locks until the next day; a parent can add 15 more minutes if needed.
- See a 7-day report of how long your child played and in which topics.
- Set family goals: choose milestones based on the number of practice days, each with a real-life reward your family decides on, like a trip to the park or a new book. Practice days do not have to be consecutive, so there is no streak to "lose" and no countdown pressure.
- Change the language for each player.
Safety and privacy
This is the part we care about most:
- No ads and no tracking tools.
- Your child's progress stays on the device and is not sent to a server. We do not collect children's real names or photos.
- No purchases and no outside links in the Creative corner, where children play freely.
- Works offline: puzzles run right on the device, which is handy when traveling or when you would rather your child use the device without an internet connection.

Ten languages
Dologi is available in ten languages: English, Vietnamese, Spanish, Indonesian, Portuguese (Brazil), Korean, Japanese, Thai, French and German. Each player can use their own language, which is handy for families who want their child to get used to another language.
How to get started
You can try Dologi on the web right now. The phone and tablet versions are coming soon.
A small tip for the first days: play a few sessions together, ask "why did you pick that answer?", and let your child explore the topics. One short session a day is enough.
